The debut of our new Designer Series featured special guest Michael Tavano, creative director of the Marks & Tavano Workroom. Designers gathered in our New York Showroom for Trim-ology: The Art & Science of the Details. The discussion touched on current trends and innovative techniques; unique approaches to customization. Guests enjoyed gathering with colleagues at an event that was as educational as it was entertaining.

With the arrival of spring we’ve not only enjoyed a wonderful response to our new collections, we’ve enjoyed ourselves at a handful of industry events and celebrations. Most recently, at last evening’s Design on a Dime 2014 Opening Night Reception. Crowds gathered to see the work of leading interior designers who have created spectacular vignettes that will be offered for sale to the public.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Housing Works, an organization serving low-income New Yorkers living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. Since 2005, Design on a Dime has raised more than $7 million in support of Housing Works.
We were proud to support the efforts of New York interior designer Robin Baron. Our trimmings can be seen on accessories throughout her vignette.

We hope you can join us, see below for a complete itinerary.
Welcome to the first official post of the Samuel & Sons blog. The past several months have played host to a flurry of exciting fall design events, including Boutique Design New York and FOCUS/13 at London’s Design Centre in Chelsea Harbour where our showroom manager artfully entertained guests with sushi-inspired petit fours in the spirit of our fall advertising campaign.

This fall, we’ve also had the pleasure of appearing in some of our favorite design publications including House Beautiful, Elle Decor and Traditional Home, as well as the new television series, Daykeover with Libby Langdon.
We were proud to participate in Libby Langdon’s one-day transformation of a New Jersey home which appeared not only on Daykeover, but as the cover story of the December/January issue of House Beautiful. Our Orsay Silk Ribbed Border was used on drapery panels in the entry; the perfect complement to the Phillip Jeffries Imperial Gates wallcovering.
In addition to appearing in magazines and on television, we’re delighted to have been seen on your Facebook pages as well as in your Tweets, Pins and Instagram photos. Thank you all for sharing! We love seeing our product samples appearing throughout your design process just as much as we enjoy seeing your completed designs.
Watch for next week’s post as we head behind the scenes at Samuel & Sons where we’ve been hard at work this month creating a home for the holidays (on a small scale), covered from top-to-bottom in trim.
