Blooming from botanical fabrics and tracing tailored edges, trimming defined some of our favorite moments from this year’s Cashiers Designer Showhouse. Across bedrooms, baths, and even a collector’s closet, designers used passementerie to play with pattern, sharpen silhouettes, connect palettes, and draw attention to unexpected details. Discover the imaginative applications that made their mark throughout the showhouse.

BEDROOM & BATH

This year's showhouse gave Tori Johnston the opportunity to design the guest room of her dreams, teeming with fringes, tassels, and tactfully placed cords.

At the center of this botanical bedroom is a captivating bed canopy, embellished by the Bagatelle Tassel Fringe in Bloom by Timothy Corrigan. The windowpane plaid headboard upholstery is given a tailored Astrid Cord edge in Antique Celadon. A lengthy lumbar pillow is punctuated at each end by the Bagatelle Blocked Marabout in Bloom, a geometric interpretation of the fabric's greens, blues, and blushes. Throw pillows behind are framed by the Aurelia Brush Fringe in Loden, while reading scones above are circled by the Délicat Silk Moss Fringe in Basil.

The bedside tableskirt receives an Ashton Striped Border accent in Verdant Moor, building on the room's interplay of linear and floral motifs.

Drapery coordinating with the bed canopy, held back by Bagatelle Single Tassel Tiebacks in Dewdrop to reveal cleverly concealed storage.

At the foot of the bed, a bench's upholstery is traced by the Trianon Cord in Chiffon, a subtle note of blush, tangerine, and chartreuse.

This cord appears again on an armchar throw pillow, transitioning between its green fabric and contrasting ruffled edge. The seams of that generous armchair are elegantly traced by the Kensington Cordedge in Olive, incorporating a muted interpretaion of the greens found around the room.

The adjoining bathroom reflected this decorative language in a cooler beige and teal palette. The Aurelia Tassel Fringe in Chocolate traces cafe-style modesty curtains, as well as a coordinating sink skirt. The Bagatelle Velvet Border in Dewdrop elegantly transitions between the sink's countertop and patterned fabric below.

Sconces above are skirted with the Délicat Silk Moss Fringe in Pewter, a vibrant grey that echoes the room's painterly wallpaper.

"FEATHERLIGHT" CLOSET BY JEN BIENVENU

Within this naturalist's dream nook, the Aristotle Greek Key in Chocolate underscores feather-inspired shelves of specimens, art, and objects.

BEDROOM & BATH BY COURTNEY MOSS

Moss green bath curtains and transformed by the contrast of Dorset Velvet Scallop leading edges in Coral, adding an architectural silhouette.

Trimming plays a softer role in the adjoining room, where the Evienne Silk & Wool Piping in Terra traces the bed's sculptural valence. Each end of a patterned bolster pillow is circled by the Venise Brush Fringe in Pale Gold, Coral, and Green, which captures the warm palette of the bedside painting.

The brush fringe frames two throw pillows in the same fabric, sat facing the sumptuous bed. Floral draperies behind them are finished with sophisticated Aurelia Tassel Fringe leading edges in Tea.
