Elizabeth Ashdown is one of only a handful of passementerie artists working in the UK today. Elizabeth combines traditional and endangered craft skills with a contemporary aesthetic in order to create intriguing, energetic and playful passementerie. Working from her studio in London, Elizabeth uses traditional handmaking techniques, combining unexpected colour palettes, mixed materials, and vibrant patterns in order to create innovative modern passementerie. Elizabeth is the author of Passementerie: Handcrafting Contemporary Trimmings, Fringes, Tassels and More published by Schiffer Craft. Elizabeth’s work has been featured in numerous publications including Architectural Digest, Veranda, Livingetc, Home & Garden and the Financial Times Style Magazine.
