Escape to Splendido

Perched above the Ligurian Sea, Belmond Hotel Splendido captures the essence of Italian romance. Designed by world-renowned design firm Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, the interiors layer sun-washed color, classical detail, and timeless trimmings that define each escapist room.

Inside the Baronessa Suite, named after Baronessa Von Mumm, trimmings find a natural home among handpicked curios and antiques. Trianon Double Tassel Tiebacks in Marzipan gather sun-bleached drapery, building on the room's peach, gold, and blue tones. Bedside lampshades are framed with Annecy Gimp in Honey, a finish which appears again on the chandelier shades above in Pink and Shades of Cream.

At the foot of the bed, a plush chaise sports a classical row of Normandy Silk Beaded Fringe in Printemps, underscored by the Orsay Silk Diamond Braid in Celadon and Cream, which captures the room's golden hour palette. This ensemble is echoed on the bolster pillow above, framed on each end by the Tiverton Cord in Rosewater.

A curated corner features an elegant vanity stool, finished at the seams by the Annecy Cord in Butterscotch.

The drapery frames a private terrace looking out over the Gulf of Portofino, letting sunlight pour into the lavish space.

At the center of the suite's sitting room, a coral settee is skirted by the Margaux Bullion Fringe in Rose de Thé, complemented by matching Cord seams. Striped accent chair upholstery is finished with a cohesive Annecy Gimp in Ecru, Olive, and Light Blue, while the Annecy Cord in Gold adds subtle contrast to the seat cushion above. The chair opposite shares the same palette, outlining powder blue upholstery with the Annecy Gimp in Honey.

A brighter interpretation of the bedroom's drapery, the sitting room instead features the Trianon Double Tassel Tieback in Chiffon, echoing the room's cream walls.

While the Baronessa Suite captures terracotta roofs at sunset, Villa Beatrice is an homage to the bright, glittering sea below. Normandy Single Tiebacks in Ivory pull back blue-striped drapery, adorned with coordinating Silk Beaded Fringe. Valences above are framed by the Orsay Silk Diamond Braid in Ivory Melange.

Cheery patterned throw pillows are framed with the Annecy Cord in Shades of Gold and Délicat Silk Fan Edge in Gold. The armchair opposite is finished with the same aureate Cord accent. The cord appears again on the striped settee in Blue, Gold, and Ivory, as well as the throw pillows above in Green. This verdant frame is echoed on the chandelier shades above by the Annecy Gimp in Green.

Framing each window, striped panels mirror the drapery details' ivory scheme. The Annecy Cord in Butterscotch circles the end of two-toned bolster pillows. The Délicat Silk Fan Edge in Gold reappears, edging ocher lampshades on each side table.

These details continue to echo throughout the villa, from Ivory-adorned drapery to Annecy-finished lampshades, seats, and daybed seams.

The villa's open air veranda is framed by sheer drapery, held back by Orsay Silk Double Tassel Tiebacks in Gold Melange. Circling the dining table, Annecy Chair Tassels in Terra Cotta and Melon secure seat cushions to rattan dining chairs.

Shared spaces are just as brilliant as each bedroom retreat. Generous dining chairs at Baratta Sedici are elegantly finished with the Annecy Cord in Ecru, Olive, and Light Blue. Veronique Double Tassel Tiebacks in Linen hold back sheer drapes, while the Délicat Silk Fan Edge in Gold frames chandelier shades above.
