In its second year, the
Kips Bay Decorator Show House Palm Beach garnered an ensemble of 21 interior greats from across the US. We had the pleasure of attending opening weekend and the
Kips Bay Palm Beach Preview Party. Opening night offered a first look at reimagined rooms every bit as colorful and spectacular as one might imagine. The 10,000 square foot Mediterranean-style home known as 'Fountain House' was transformed, and in many cases, with the addition of Samuel & Sons trimmings.

Kips Bay Palm Beach Opening Weekend
The opening gala was quite the spectacle, with exotic cars brought in to line the driveway, ice sculptures for bars, and passed caviar hors d’oeuvres. Attendees dressed to impress, and heightened the design of the rooms, with many outfits reflecting the quintessential color and floral design style of Palm Beach. Show Houses are a platform for unrivaled creativity and it was thrilling to witness Samuel & Sons trimmings at every turn. The applications were unique, bold, and statement-making.
Highlights of Kips Bay Palm Beach included
Rinfret Ltd.’s Grand Entry where a settee was adorned with a double layer skirt:
Aquitaine Fine Bullion Fringe was applied to the base beneath a layer of
Harbour Barrel Knot Fringe.
Pillows on a custom banquette are trimmed with our Cirque Pom Pom Fringe.

Billy Ceglia stayed true to his sense of classic design, incorporating a bold shade of green, as well as a candy bar to keep his space fresh and fun. Off-white drapery panels were perfectly accentuated, using both sizes of
Cambridge Braid in Spring Green.

A standout for creativity went to
Mark P. Finlay Interiors. The fabric tented ceiling of their ‘Coral Cabana’ room was ornamented with
Aurelia Crete and
Orsay Silk Woven Crete, and an
Aurelia Key Tassel punctuated each corner.
Aurelia Double Tassel Tiebacks held the cabana curtains in place, and
Mita Shell Fringe ran vertically down corners where the walls joined. The "oohs" and "ahhs" were audible as people transitioned through the room.

As a whole, the Show House felt fun and vibrant, and perfectly on trend with Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2019. With over 1,000 people passing through on opening night, Kips Bay Palm Beach is sure to wrap up as a huge success.
