Kips Bay Palm Beach 2022

Samuel & Sons and The Shade Store are proud to support The 5th Annual Kips Bay Palm Beach Decorator Show House –a celebrated event that brings together leading designers to transform a luxury Palm Beach Home with all proceeds benefiting The Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club and the Boys & Girls Club of Palm Beach County. This year, we were lucky enough to talk to several designers about their rooms, and the process of using our Samuel & Sons collection for The Shade Store. Read on for more and learn more about the assortment of Samuel & Sons trims available in-stock at The Shade Store here.

Tailored Pleat Drapery and Custom Valance by The Shade Store trimmed in 1.5” Cambridge Strie Braid in Grasshopper

"Palm Beach has a well-defined, sophisticated aesthetic while maintaining a fun, old-school sensibility. “Green Gardens”, my sunroom at the 2022 Kips Bay Palm Beach Decorator Showhouse is a direct reflection of the spirit of Palm Beach with a modern twist. I set out to design a beautiful garden space but wanted it to feel a bit unexpected. I drew upon a fresh color palette of green and white to beckon the outdoors in. Because the room has windows on three walls, I knew that the window treatments would need to pack a punch as they would be a major focal point in the room. I opted for tailored draperies in a crisp glazed linen with contrasting trim and dentil pelmets to add a crispness to the space and a little wink to the heyday of Palm Beach." - Paloma Contreras

Tailored Pleat Drapery by The Shade Store trimmed in Aria Silk Brush Fringe in Ruby

"For our Drawing Room, we sought to convey a timeless, gracious sense of comfort and hospitality. The window treatments capture the region's sunny palette, with deeper hues than the famous Palm Beach pastels. The woven grasscloth informed the selection of curtain fabric -- a winsome brushstroke gingham pattern from Steve McKenzie. We added Samuel & Sons' rich ruby brush fringe on the leading and bottom edges of the curtains for a more tailored, tactile dimension. The hand-printed floral silk Soane fabric on the Roman Shades is a delicate counterpart to the bold curtains, as is the Samuel & Sons citron green braided trim at the bottom edge. " - Alice Engel
