Tour ten spaces, trimmed to perfection, from the Kips Bay Decorator Show House in Palm Beach. From inspired draperies to lavishly layered pillows, read on to discover how this year’s designers created our favorite details.
Nadia Watts sets the tone with the "Lively Loggia," a testament to trimming for outdoor living. Each pillow is impeccably layered with coordinated cords, borders, and fringe that elevate this space beyond your typical patio.
Watts continues her stained-glass-inspired palette inside to the "Jeweled Gallery," a vibrant salon that invites visitors into the space with a welcoming opulence. The Calisto Single Tassel Tieback in Indigo flanks each window, complementing the peacock blue walls.
Blue and white, perfected. Phoebe Howard unifies a diversity of details with this classic color pairing, creating curated draperies with the Colony Embroidered Border and La Terre Onion Tassel Fringe.
The Sophie Tassel Tieback in Wedgewood holds back each curtain to reveal Ariel Okin's “Trellis Garden,” complemented by a Sakiori Embroidered Border in Porcelain leading edge.
Step inside Rinfret Ltd.'s “Seashell Sanctuary at Vizcaya.” Raffia-like cut fringe, subtley stried borders, and metallic-yarn-embroidered braids crown this coastal scheme with seaside tints and textures. The nautical Harbor Cord is skillfully appliquéd on each Roman shade.
DuVäl Design’s “A Gentleman’s Affair with Sunset Tea” captures the magical glow of golden-hour in every detail. The Elementi Tiered Fringe, by Maddux Creative, echos hues from the ambient scenic above, while the rest of the sofa is embellished by beaded, silk, and studded accents that add to the room's warm glow.
Megan Gorelick's “De-Loo-Loo” micro-parlor is trimmed from top to bottom with playful panache. Pom poms, brush fringe, and sheer borders frame an eclectic collection of throw pillows, while the Sophie Bullion Fringe in Salt skirts a coordinating ottoman.
McCann Design Group creates the captivating "Le Tropical" lounge with an array of contemporary details. With fresh, unexpected applications of faux-fur and bullion fringe, this space is an homage to the Parisian modernist. The Dorset Velvet Scalloped Border in Aquamarine is a wonderful addition of luster that captures the room's natural light with its graphic silhouette.
Fresh classicism from "La Mer Pacifique" by Tristan Harstan. Subtle, yet sophisticated, the Aurelia Cord in Wedgewood frames the upholstery of each dining chair, echoed by the leading edge of each ivory silk drapery, fashioned by The Shade Store.
“Her Bathroom & Her Dressing Room” by Jessica Jubelirer is a treasure trove of natural color. Borders and braids in Jute, Bisque, Tan, Adobe, and Cafe au Lait trail every nook and cranny of the romantic dressing room.
