“The Morning Room” at this year’s Pasadena Showcase House is impeccably trimmed from top to bottom. From Grosgrain Ribbon tracing the ceiling to tassel fringe brushing the rug below, designer Samantha Williams leaves no opportunity for trim untouched. Her playful pattern pairings and polished edges breathe new life into a timeless blue and white palette, finished with a wink of formality.
The room’s heart lies in a beautifully composed tablecloth, layered with care. Two sizes of the Francoise Border in Bluebell lend visual weight across the drop, while an intricate skirt edge — created by pairing the Chevallerie Braid and Tassel Fringe in Bleu by Timothy Corrigan —adds dramatic texture and movement. The result is a centerpiece that anchors the room with classic blue and white elegance.
Circling the table, upholstered dining chairs receive a tailored finish with the MDS Rosette Cord in Wedgewood. At the back, striped lumbar pillows are framed in the MDS Check Brush Fringe in Azure. Together, these small but impactful touches, both by Mark D. Sikes, add polish, comfort, and a hint of playfulness.
The French Grosgrain Ribbon in Prussian meanders overhead, tracing the wallpapered panels of the octagonal coffered ceiling, reinforcing the room’s clever geometry with a tailored, architectural edge.
Crisp white roman shades are edged in the same contrasting French Grosgrain Ribbon, offering a clean frame for the sunlight that pours in through the French doors.
