The 2026 Antiques at the Gardens

For 20 years, Antiques at the Gardens has brought celebrated designers, natural beauty, and timeless antiques together in Birmingham, Alabama. This fall, an abundance of trimming adorned the anniversary edition, appearing both inside and out in layers of fringe, tassels, and decorative borders. Take a closer look at the trimming triumphs from this milestone year.

Generous tails of MDS Stripe Bullion Fringe in Wheat by Mark D. Sikes framed the grand entrance, welcoming guests inside.

At the end of the chinoiserie-adorned hall, a borne settee's curved silhouette was grounded by a generous skirt of Margaux Bullion Fringe in Aubergine.

Around the room, pistachio drapery was gathered by Aurelia Double Tassel Tiebacks in Chocolate, introducing a rich note of contrast.

At the heart of the festivities, a dramatic rotunda hosted guests for book signings, drinks, and conversation. Sweeping drapery framed the entrance with Romaunt Blocked Brush Fringe in Arcadia Multi by And Objects layered beneath a coordinating Romaunt Gimp header, capturing the fabric's two tones. The central table's damask fabric was echoed by a coordinating Romaunt Tasseled Bullion Fringe, while the Délicat Silk Fan Edge in Pewter daintily adorned the contrasting stripe of fabric above.

Orsay Silk Rosettes in Terra Cotta, Rust, and Gold held together a display table's pleats, revealing glimpses of the warm red fabric beneath. Two rows of the Romaunt Gimp carried the decorative language around the skirt, creating a subtle connection to the room's larger furnishings.

Against hand-painted chinoiserie panels, Romaunt Tassel Tiebacks in Rossetti Crimson held back drapery around the room, echoing the scarlet reverse of the fabric and the pleated lampshades nearby. Each shade was finished with the Délicat Silk Fan Edge, drawing on the wallpaper's warm silvery gray.

A scenic mural set the backdrop for the main stage, where yellow-and-ivory striped sofas offered a bright counterpoint to the softly painted landscape. The Bagatelle Tassel Skirt Fringe in Jonquil by Timothy Corrigan made a statement center stage, while the Cambridge Cord in Pineapple subtly framed olive lumbar pillows. The Délicat Silk Fan Edge in Gold traced the lampshades, carrying the room's sunny palette through to its smallest details.

Outside, the decorative details continued beneath autumn foliage and scalloped umbrellas, bringing the refinement of the interior to the garden's gathering spaces. Crisp white table skirts received a tailored Cavallo Border finish in Sail, adding subtle woven pattern without interrupting the simplicity of the fabric.

Seats circling each table featured back slip covers embellished with an ornate row of Orsay Silk Tassel Fringe in Melange. Le Jardin Silk Metallic Chair Tassels in Gilded Gold secured the covers with a jewelry-like finish.

Aurelia Double Tassel Tiebacks in Chocolate resumed outdoors, gathering pistachio drapery and carrying the same classic contrast from the entrance into the garden.

Under a procession of scalloped umbrellas, soft peach ottoman skirts were sharpened by a contrasting edge of performance Printemps Chevron Border in Ivory. Lumbar pillows framed by Westport Brush Fringe sat on armchairs with Aspen Piping seams in Snow, completing the outdoor lounge with welcome softness.

Among the flowering gardens, striped table skirts were skirted by Chevallerie Tassel Fringe in Oro by Timothy Corrigan. The same fringe appeared on matching pleated lampshades throughout the floral workshop and conservatory bars, carrying the aurate palette and playful tassel detail from one setting to the next.
