Grant Trick, owner of Design Industry Workroom in Birmingham, designs and produces custom upholstered furniture and soft furnishings for interior designers and architects across the country.

Grant originally studied apparel design, but quickly realized his passion for not only sewing, but building as well. This combination of aptitudes lead him to begin his career in New York, working in visual design and prop making for brands such as Tiffany & Co., Levi Strauss, and Nautica. After 5 years in NYC, he relocated to San Francisco where he found work in trade workrooms and fell in love with the craft.

Through these formative experiences, he honed his knowledge of tailoring, scale and proportion, which distinguish him as an invaluable resource to his clients. Grant believes that the hallmark of high design is in the details, which is why he focuses on every element, from each stitch to each spring, to produce the highest quality custom pieces for which he is known.
